Review of "The Truth in Lies" by: Jeanne McDonald

"The Truth in Lies" By: Jeanne McDonald
Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

This story is about a young woman named McKenzie Evans, who is involved in a not-so-loving relationship with her boyfriend, Nate. Nate is a pharmaceutical representative, who is rarely home, and feeds on his own, selfish ambitions. Olivia – McKenzie’s best friend – is equally selfish and self-centered, and is a manipulative and controlling factor in McKenzie’s life. Her entire life changes when she meets Olivia’s new boyfriend, Drew. Just the day before, McKenzie had seen Drew, running on the beach, and was surprised to see him in the clutches of her best friend. As time goes on, McKenzie and Drew find out just how much they have in common, and a true friendship develops – but is there more? Does McKenzie want more from Drew? Does he want more from her? What about Olivia? What about the fiery bursts of electricity and seem to flow between them? This story will take you on a whirlwind of emotions … you will be left breathless as each twist and turn unfolds. There is a HUGE shocker near the last chapter (one I had NOT anticipated, and quite frankly, SHOCKED ME). I cannot WAIT for book #2!! Trust me – you will not be able to put this book down. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
