Alareik is a tall, muscled, caramel colored Cupid, while Sapphire is a voluptuous cocoa colored waitress with a third eye that he is assigned to study. In doing so he becomes compassionate to Sapphire's ill fortune and sees the need to protect her at all costs. In the end, he does the unthinkable for a Cupid, falls in love with a human. Will their love be ill fated or will the two find a way to be together despite all those who object to their union, including the jealous, conniving Ilithyia? The ending will leave you breathless, wondering if there is hope these two will find the happy ending that those assigned a Cupid receive. Cupid's Desire is a pleasant mixture of fantasy and romance where you really root for the male and female lead to get together despite seemingly impossible odds. Alareik is mouthwatering as a popular Cupid that helps couples get together and Sapphire makes us unlucky average sized women feel as though we have a chance with the dream guy we fantasize about. This read is filled with countless interesting characters, magical and human alike, and the leprechaun, in particular, provides levity to the story. I, for one, can't wait to see where the continuation of this story takes Alareik and Sapphire.
