You were my brother in the line of duty.
My partner.
My best friend.
You were the man who had it all.
Your thoroughness and precision made you a great cop.
It’s what got you killed.
And now I live with the darkening shadows of your memory.
You weren’t here when I needed you to save me.
You weren’t here when I needed help solving the most gruesome murder this town had ever seen.
But most of all, you weren’t here to keep me from falling in love with your wife.

Review
Rating: ☆☆☆☆

This was an excellent first part to this new series.

Wyatt is going through the motions after losing his best friend and partner, who was killed during an operation that went wrong.  There is a guilt there that he survived that keeps him from living fully.  Guilt that he lived whilst his partner died, leaving his wife a widow and his daughter without a father.  Guilt that he has always wanted more with Grace.  Guilt that they are growing closer.  Fear of being judged by those around him.

Set in a small town and against a backdrop of a murder that has rocked this small town, this is set up to be an amazing series.  This was a great set of characters in a close setting that felt like family.  I loved the fact that it was told completely from Wyatt's POV to fully get inside the head of this brooding and stoic man.
