An elegant and sumptuous read.
When food columnist Holly reviews Chef Gabe's restaurant she is left flummoxed. Her usual approach of combining food with the Chef's story falls short when Gabe insists on letting the food tell its own story. When Holly discovers something Gabe wants to keep secret at all costs, Gabe needs to find a way to give Holly something she wants to keep his secret. This leads to them travelling to Italy together to write a column for Holly's dream newspaper. Holly gets to discover the tastes, food and experiences of Italy through Gabe's eyes and passion.
Good food, excellent company and tour through a beautiful country. I loved how the drama was low key, enabling us to discover and get to know these characters. It was a book I devoured and savored in one sitting. A simply delicious read.
