Rating: 4.5*
Well, the direction of this story was unexpected but I oh so love the fact that it wasn't predictable. Miranda has been crushing on Chance but he's not showing any interest. His brother Sam on the other hand always manages to say something that ends up upsetting her. It goes to show that men have problems being coherent around the person they love too.
With the whole town being at risk from wild fires, it brings an added tension and urgency to the situation. It forces them to consider where they want their lives to be and what is important to them.
This author likes to take risks in this series to give us books that are different and unexpected. This was a really good read and I found myself connecting to these characters from the start and completely invested in their outcome.
